Gas Cook-Tops
Details

Ask any chef and they'll admit they prefer cooking with gas as opposed to an electric element - and the reason is you simply get better performance & heat control with a direct flame. Gas cook-tops have also come a long way since their early days with many technology & design improvements. Sealed burners allow for easy clean up and with electronic re-ignition, they're considerably safer than older models. (Several products have advanced features like built-in thermocouples designed to shut off the gas after a few seconds without flame ignition).

Grate designs have also improved over the years... as you'll find heavy-duty cast finishes that won't chip or rust. Gas burners typically rate between 9,000-15,000 Btu's with simmer options as low as 450 Btu's. The most common size of a traditional gas cook-top is 30" wide, though a 36", 45" & 48" sizes are available. Some models can be ordered in propane instead of natural gas and conversion kits can also be obtained. Colours include white, bisque, black
& stainless.
