A 'built-in' fridge by definition is cabinet depth so it appears 'flush' with your counter/cupboards. Today's built-in refrigerators are available in bottom-freezer, top-freezer and side-by-side styles. The top-compressor design allows for more interior space despite the shallow design.

Most models come with built-in ice-makers and in some instances, models come with factory-installed trims designed for matching wood panels. Stainless steel is still a very popular finish though other colours such as white, black, and bisque also available.
